If you have mobility issues, and you don’t want to be on the upper floor, please ensure you indicate this in the appropriate box on the registration form.
In the sea, on the river, by the pool or on dry land: with its exceptional environment, the 4-star Ravenala Attitude hotel offers a wide range of activities to liven up your days at WACA’s 55th AGA. Don’t miss it!
Air Mauritius Discount Fare
As a reminder, WACA President, Maga Ramasamy, has been successful in obtaining a 25% discount off the applicable fare with Air Mauritius for participants who would like to take Air Mauritius to attend the 55th AGA. The 25% discount off application fares also applies for participants who would like to take Air Mauritius to/from the pre-AGA Réunion tour as well as the post-AGA Southern Madagascar and Nosey Be tours.
To apply for a discounted fare, please send your name, e-mail address and telephone number (including country code) to Lucie Forget: lucie.forget1@gmail.com, with a copy to wacaworld@outlook.com. Your information will then be passed on to the Air Mauritius call centre and a representative will contact you to make your reservation(s) and take payment with your credit card. Specific details to be advised.
The Dodo Calls
Do you remember that great time you had in Mauritius at one of the famous Dodo’s Nest packages? If you do, why not return again to beautiful Mauritius and reminisce with participants at the forthcoming 55th AGA being held from 18–23 September. Bring some pictures or any other memorabilia of the Dodo’s Nest you attended. It is intended to have a “Dodo’s Nest” nostalgia evening or similar during the AGA so the more items to showcase the better.
Pre-AGA Tour: Réunion
Registration also remains open on the pre-AGA tour of Réunion from 15–18 September where participants will be based at the 5-Star Akoya Hotel & Spa. This fascinating island beckons with its numerous peaks and volcanoes and where almost half of the lush vegetation island is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Highlights of the tour include viewing the “Piton de la Fournaise” one of the most active volcanoes on the planet with more than 150 eruptions since the 17th century and, not to missed, a mandatory visit to La Saga du Rhum museum where the island’s traditional rum is still produced.
Pre-AGA Tour: Seychelles
Registration for this tour is now closed.
Post-AGA Tour: Southern Madagascar

70th Anniversary Celebration
On 1 and 2 June the Interairline Cl
b Zurich (IACZ)
celebrated its 70th anniversary (see below). What a milestone! exclaims European Regional Coordinator, Rosemarie Mamed, who sends the following report.
The Club, which was founded in 1954, connected staff of all commercial airlines represented in Zurich from the very beginning. In the early years, the Club organized its famous ski championships in addition to various social events. Other sporting events followed over the years.
In 1966, the IACZ together with other airline clubs founded the World Airlines Clubs Association (WACA). With participation of local and interliners from other countries at international events, tours and trips organized by other worldwide Clubs, both the IACZ and WACA reached their heydays in the 80s and 90s and they remain unforgettable for so many of us. Many very good friendships have been made that last a lifetime. The President of the IACZ during those years, Peter Gilardoni, is fondly remembered as a good friend and wonderful interliner!
Even though interlining has passed its peak in today's world, President, Eugen Meier, and his engaged team are now leading the IACZ into its 8th decade with a lot of commitment. We wish the IACZ, its board and all members the very best for the future!

The Scent of Colour: Studio Visit
WACA Ambassador for Blind Children, Suheil Baqaeen, had the pleasure to welcome the British Ambassador to his Darat (house) studio where he saw first hand the children painting their pictures (see below). Suheil’s project enables visually impaired children to paint by identifying colours through smell. Every colour is given a smell to help them identify, such as apples and cherries for red, lemon for yellow, cinnamon for brown, mint for green and so on.
