55th Annual General AssemblyThe 2024 Interline Celebration

Press Release
Chief Marketing/Events Officer, Silva Kandiah, prepared a press release about the forthcoming 55th AGA and sent it to as many airlines and associated airline companies as possible. Silva is also requesting your cooperation by sending it to your airline social club, Human Resources department or similar as well as your colleagues, fellow retirees, airline friends, etc. The press release can be found in the News and Press Releases section of the WACA website: https://www.waca.org/news/. The more we promote, the more we will attract new participants to our annual event.

AGA Hotel
Space is still available at the 4-Star Ravenala Attitude hotel which was chosen as the host hotel for the 55th AGA because of it’s goal to establish sustainable tourism by protecting the environment, supporting local economies and caring about the local community. This goal resonates with WACA’s own aims for its members to be responsible travellers making a difference in Environmental, Social or Governance (ESG) aspects whenever and wherever we travel.
Accommodation
Accommodation in the 4-star hotel will be in a two-storey building in spacious, luxurious 64 m² rooms entirely dedicated to rest and relaxation. Each room on the ground floor opens onto a patio and each room on the upper floor opens onto a balcony. If you have mobility issues, and you don’t want to be on the upper floor, please ensure you indicate this in the appropriate box on the registration form.
Activities
In the sea, on the river, by the pool or on dry land: with its exceptional environment, the 4-star Ravenala Attitude hotel offers a wide range of activities to liven up your days at WACA’s 55th AGA being held from 18–23 September. Don’t miss it!

Pre-AGA Tour: Réunion
The fascinating island of Réunion beckons with its numerous peaks and volcanoes and where almost half of the lush vegetation island is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Space is still available on the tour from 15–18 September where participants will be based at the 5-Star Akoya Hotel & Spa. Highlights of the tour include viewing the “Piton de la Fournaise” one of the most active volcanoes on the planet with more than 150 eruptions since the 17th century and, not to missed, a mandatory visit to La Saga du Rhum museum where the island’s traditional rum is still produced.

Pre-AGA Tour: Seychelles
The capacity for this pre-AGA Seychelles tour was increased and, even with the increased capacity, only a very few places now remain. The three-day tour from 13–16 September was arranged so that participants can take a flight from the Seychelles to Mauritius on 16 September and then take two additional restful nights in Mauritius prior to the start of the 55th AGA. Arrangements have been made with the AGA hotel for an airport transfer and two additional nights accommodation should participants wish to make this arrangement.

Post-AGA Tour: Southern Madagascar
This tour is now full.

Post-AGA Tour: Nosey Be Island Madagascar
Home to some of the world's most unique flora and fauna, a six-day post-AGA tour from 23–28 September of Nosy Be Island that still has space is a once in a lifetime option to see these wonders first hand. In addition, Madagascar is also world famous for its lemurs (primitive relatives of monkeys, apes and humans), colourful chameleons, numerous different reptiles and towering baobab trees. At the end of the touring day, participants can relax and enjoy the facilities in the luxurious 4-Star Palm Beach Resort.
Note: a request has been made to Air Mauritius to see if a concessionary airfare will be granted for participants taking a post-AGA Madagascar tour.
Further detailed information about the 55th AGA and the pre- and post-AGA packages can be found in the Events section of the WACA website: www.waca.org/events/.
